Young Minds
As a school, we support the work of Young Minds. Young Minds is a mental health charity for children, young people and their parents. They make sure that all young people get the mental health support that they need.
Each year, the children of North Road Community Primary School fundraise for Young Minds. In October 2021, the children raised over £500 through running a sponsored London Mini Marathon and by donating £1 to come to school dressed in yellow on the annual Young Minds Hello Yellow Day.
Hello Yellow Day 2022
This year the children came to school dressed in yellow, took part in a special mental health awareness assembly and celebrated our differences and shared what makes us special. Every child then hung their decoration on our ‘Me Tree’ in the hall. We also explored why it is SO important to talk about things that make us feel sad or upset.
Mini London Marathon 2021
This year, Young Minds and The National Autistic Society were the chosen charities for our annual Mini London Marathon. All children were sponsored to complete a 2.6 mile run across the week. By using all of their school values, every child completed their goal and raised an amazing £989.58.
