Special Educational Needs and Disability (SEND)
This section of the website provides information about how North Road Community Primary School supports children with SEND. All schools are required to publish this information as part of the SEND Code of Practice.
Each local authority should also publish a Local Offer of SEND services through their local authority websites. South Gloucestershire’s local offer can be found at: http://www.southglos.gov.uk/health-and-social-care/local-offer/
North Road Primary school is an inclusive community of pupils, parents and staff. We are aware of and responsive to the needs of each individual pupil. To learn more about our school approach to SEND, you can download our SEND policy using the link below.
Our SEND Impact Report gives you further information about how our SEND policy has been implemented over the last year. Please click on the link to view this report:
It is our intention to remove, as far as we can, those barriers which make it hard for children and adults with a disability to take part in the day to day life of our school and benefit from the educational experiences and services we provide.
Please find our response to some commonly asked questions about pupils with special educational needs and disabilities. Read with the Impact Report, these form our Special Educational Needs Information Report. This is updated annually.
Our SENDCO is Miss E Westall. You can contact her on northroadprimary@sgmail.org.uk

Great school, Great SEND and support.
Pupils with SEND are supported well.
I like to do exercising. They help me to sit on the carpet.
The sensory story is good because it reminds me to do good handwriting.
In maths, using cubes, counters, money and number squares helps me.
I need help understanding my emotions and waiting to answer a question.
Adults help me by telling me how to do the sounds properly.
