Mental Well-Being

At North Road Community Primary School, mental well-being is at the core of our curriculum and is central to the ethos of our school. Children are taught that it is important to talk about their feelings – positive or negative. By talking and listening to others and through maintaining a positive outlook towards problems or barriers, solutions can be found and mental health remains strong. They are also taught to look out for signs that a friend might need some help or someone to talk to.
The bumblebee was chosen as the symbol of mental health awareness for our school and can be found around the school, on the playground and in the sensory garden. The bees remind children of the importance of looking after their mental well-🐝ing!
