Young Leadership
Year 6 Prefects
Each year five Year 6 pupils are nominated by the staff of North Road Primary School to be Prefects. These pupils are chosen by their exemplary behaviour at all times in school and their ability to model and reflect the six school values of Respect, Perseverance, Pride, Responsibility, Ambition and Positivity. They each have different roles which include a prefect to chair the School Council, a prefect for assembly times, a prefect for Reception and KS1 nurture, a prefect for Lunchtimes and a prefect for Wellbeing and The Sensory Garden. They also meet with visitors to school, show new potential parents around school, meet with Governors and act as role models for all other pupils in our school.
All of our Year 6 pupils have roles of responsibility. These include House Captains, Vice Captains and Librarians. We believe in giving all pupils the opportunity to develop and demonstrate their leadership skills, preparing them for the move onto secondary education.
